Haunted Bicycles

How many locks are still used and how many deserted? This was taken outside the train station.

The title of the post? That comes from me misunderstanding a lyric from a Smiths tune for many years, as a teenager in Manchester I could be found wandering the wet streets singing 'Haunted Bicycles' to myself - no idea why I thought the bicycles should be haunted. I just trusted the genius that is Morrisey to know what he was on about!

This Charming Man - The Smiths

Punctured bicycle
On a hillside desolate
Will nature make a man of me yet ?
When in this charming car
This charming man

Why pamper life's complexities
When the leather runs smooth
On the passenger seat ?

I would go out tonight
But I haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome
That someone so handsome should care"

A jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said "return the rings"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things

I would go out tonight
But I haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome
That someone so handsome should care"
Oh, la-la, la-la, la-la,
this charming man ...
Oh, da-da, da-da, da-da,
this charming man ...

A jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said "return the ring"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
